FAITHHEADSHOT (2).jpg

Training and Experience:

For over fifteen years I have developed expertise in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for adults with anxiety and related concerns. I have had the opportunity to work with leaders in the field of CBT and anxiety. I earned my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Temple University under the direction of Dr. Richard Heimberg, an expert in CBT, social anxiety and generalized anxiety. I also trained with Dr. Jonathan Grayson, an authority in the treatment of  Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) using Exposure and Response Prevention. Additionally, I completed my Clinical Psychology Internship and Postdoctoral Fellowship specializing in Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) at the Palo Alto Veterans Affairs Health Care System. I also worked as a  Research Associate at Stanford University, where I served as the primary clinical psychologist in Dr. James Gross' lab. At Stanford, I conducted CBT groups for socially anxious adults in a randomized controlled trial, engaged in scholarly research, and supervised post-baccalaureate and graduate students' clinical work. For the past several years, I have engaged in private practice and supervision in the San Francisco Bay Area and in Boulder, CO. I also have co-authored a number of scholarly journal articles and book chapters regarding the cognitive underpinnings of anxiety and the impact CBT has upon them.
